Texas 89th Legislative Session: Stayed informed with ELA

The Texas 89th Legislative Session is officially underway, bringing key opportunities to advocate for policies that support early childhood education (ECE) and child care. At the Early Learning Alliance (ELA), we are committed to keeping you informed and engaged on the critical issues affecting young children, families, and educators across Tarrant County and the state of Texas. That’s why we’ve launched a dedicated 89th Legislative Session webpage where you can find:

  • Updates on key legislative impacting early learning and child care

  • Resources to help you engage with policymakers

  • Opportunities to take action and support advocacy efforts

Track Key Bills With TXAEYC
One of the best ways to stay informed is using the Bill Tracker from TXAEYC, which provides real-time updates on legislation and impacts early learning and child care. By following these policy changes, you can better understand how new laws may affect children, families, and providers in our community.

Learn About Key Priorities From Children At Risk
Organizations like Children At Risk are working hard to advocate for policies and prioritize needs for young children. Their research and policy recommendations highlight urgent challenges facing ECE and offer solutions that lawmakers can act on.

Join Us For ECE Rally Day At The Capitol
Make your voice heard! We encourage you to participate in ECE Rally Day at The Capitol alongside TXAEYC and Children At Risk. This is an opportunity to: 1) Meet with legislators and share why ECE matters; 2) Stand in solidarity with educators, parents, and advocates; and 3) Help shape policies that support young children and families.

Together, we can advocate for policies that build a stronger foundation for Texas’ youngest learners. Stay informed, stay engaged, and let’s make a difference!
