The 89th Texas Legislative Session commenced on January 14, 2025, and will run through June 2, 2025. This session brings together the 150 members of the House of Representatives and 31 members of the Senate to pass the state’s budget and new legislation.

Texas Senate Finance Committee Hearing
TXAEYC leadership and multiple members took the floor at both the Texas Senate Finance Committee Hearing and before the Texas House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, demanding real investment in early childhood education. Their testimony wasn’t just a plea; it was a declaration that the future of Texas children cannot be compromised. Watch the recap video to view the testimonies from our early childhood advocates.

Ride With Us to the Capitol
We would like to invite you to join us at the ECE Rally Day on March 6. The Early Learning Alliance will be providing a bus charter to and from the state Capitol, and we are partnering with the Fort Worth Chapter of TXAEYC. Early childhood educators, owners, leaders, families, and supporters are all welcome. This is a first-come, first-served basis, and spots are limited. More information will be provided once registered.

ECE Rally Day at the Capitol
CHILDREN AT RISK and the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children invites child care providers, advocates, families, business leaders, and stakeholders to join Texas Legislators in emphasizing the importance of quality, affordable child care for working families and the Texas economy. This rally will review priorities and legislation aimed at making ECE (early childhood education) more accessible.
