Kym Shaw Day, M.Ed.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Kym Shaw Day has worked in the nonprofit field for over 20 years. Raised by some amazing altruistic women, Kym continues their legacy through her commitment to serve others. Kym has a master's degree in education and the majority of her career has been spent improving and advocating for high quality education for young children in underserved communities. As a child that grew up in poverty, Kym knows first-hand how a quality education and an involved community can change the trajectory of a child’s life.
As one of the founding members of the Early Learning Alliance, Kym has served on several committees, she has co-chaired the Racial Equity Guidance Council and has been the chair and vice chair of the Leadership team. As the acting Executive Director, “I am thrilled to continue the amazing work that ELA has done for children and families in Tarrant County and North Texas as a whole. I am honored to get to do this work with so many friends and colleagues who have dedicated their life’s work to raise awareness, improve systems and remove barriers to a better quality of life for children.”

Rebecca Rueda
MANAGER OF STRATEGIC INITIATIVES
Rebecca Rueda is a visionary strategist and community connector dedicated to elevating early childhood education across Tarrant County. As Manager of Strategic Initiatives, she leads with purpose—overseeing cross-sector committees, cultivating partnerships, and designing high-impact communications that amplify the voices of educators, families, and advocates. From managing ELA’s digital presence to curating signature events, Rebecca transforms ideas into experiences that inspire action and deepen engagement.
Beyond her role at ELA, Rebecca is a trusted advocate in the region’s civic and nonprofit landscape. She actively contributes to organizations such as the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas and Steer Fort Worth, and serve on the boards of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children and the Hispanic Wellness Coalition. A proud alumna of Leadership Fort Worth and Leadership ISD, she brings both grassroots insights and system-level strategy to every space she enters.
A native Tejana with Mexican-American roots, Rebecca was the first in her family to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She finds joy in travel, baking, and mentoring young girls—always guided by a belief that leadership begins with love, and change beings with connection.

Kimber Winchester
EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Kimber Winchester brings over 30 years of diverse leadership and community-focused experience to her role, with a strong foundation in both early childhood education and executive administration. She began her career with a decade of hands-on work in early childhood education, building a deep understanding of the developmental and emotional needs of young children and their families.
She later transitioned into the tech industry, where she spent more than 20 years in executive leadership roles, including serving as Vice President of People Operations and Administration. In that role, she led strategic initiatives in organizational culture, operations, and employee engagement, earning a reputation for thoughtful leadership and operational excellence.
In addition to her professional achievements, Kimber is the founder of Palmer's Closet, a nonprofit children’s clothes closet located in her hometown, dedicated to providing clothing and shoes to children from families facing financial hardship. Her commitment to equity, dignity, and community support continues to drive her work in both nonprofit and leadership spaces.
