Upcoming Events at the Texas Capitol

The Early Learning Alliance has partnered with Children at Risk and other nonprofit organizations, legislators, advocates, families, and business leaders from around the state to host two upcoming events at the Texas Capitol.

Equity Rally Day will take place on February 14, 2023 in order to garner awareness and support for all measures that reduce racial disparities in education, health, maternal mortality, and access to basic needs such as food and shelter. Representative Ron Reynolds and Senator Royce West will join us for a press conference on the steps of the Capitol Building, along with members of the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and Mexican American Texas Legislative Caucus. JOIN US in speaking up for equity and justice for all Texas children and families.

March 21, 2023 will then be Early Childhood Education Rally Day! Legislators along with community leaders will hold a rally and press conference on the South Steps of the Capitol, highlighting the importance of access to quality affordable child care to working families and the Texas Economy. More information and registration to come!

Are you interested in advocating for children without traveling to Austin? There are plenty of opportunities! For example, the third annual State of Black Children in Texas summit will be held virtually on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 10 AM - 12 PM CT. Statewide experts will explore some of the major challenges Black children across Texas face, including educational disparities. We will also present opportunities to address these challenges, highlight the work already being done in the field, and prepare attendees with best practices to support Black children.
